Learn how to increase efficiency during busy season through proven tax workpaper techniques.

Technology is disrupting the accounting industry, putting pressure on tax professionals to provide value-add services while compliance work gets pushed to the backburner. At the same time, the taxation code is becoming increasingly complex and practitioners are responsible for staying up to date, all while feeling the pressure of keeping fees low.

This course is focused on equipping new and seasoned tax practitioners with fundamental workpaper techniques proven to save time, increase compliance profit margins, and ultimately give practitioners the opportunity to offer value-add services to their clients. Also included will be a short demonstration of the regroupTAX application.

Rachel began her career in public accounting in 2007 at a leading San Diego based CPA firm. In 2012, she launched a US-based outsource company (regroupPROCESSING), which supports CPAs nationwide with data entry components of business tax prep. In 2016 Rachel launched a second start-up company, regroupTAX, focused on developing tools to help increase workflow efficiency for tax professionals. Using her skills as a CPA, Rachel, along with her regroupTAX team, built a SaaS-based workpaper application to create consistent, paperless workpaper files for business tax returns. Rachel is passionate about creating a collaborative environment and pushing the envelope when it comes to new technologies and solutions within the industry. Rachel also co-founded the CPA Future Leader Forum; a community of “next gen” CPA firm leaders who believe that collaboration is the key to elevating the profession as a whole, and also sits on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Chapter of CalCPA. Rachel’s vision for the future of the accounting industry is built on excellent client service and she is dedicated to fostering relationships and building solutions to help the industry move forward in an innovative way. Rachel has a B.S. in Managerial Economics from The University of California, Davis and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2008.

RegroupTAX is an application that helps tax practitioners efficiently prepare business tax returns by providing consistent, tax-basis workpapers. Built on a cloud-platform, regroupTAX integrates with accounting software (Xero), as well as tax preparation software (CCH Axcess) to help eliminate manual data entry. Our goal is to save time and increase efficiency for tax practices of all sizes; from sole practitioners to multi-partner firms.
