If you’ve touched multi-state tax issues at all, you’ve heard about concepts like nexus (taxable presence), sourcing revenues properly among states, and the difference in taxability of products from state to state. (And if you don’t, we’ll cover them briefly!)
Technology companies deal with these same issues, but often have additional factors that make the concepts more challenging. In this course, the third in the three-part series sponsored by Avalara, we’ll cover some of the basics of sales tax and then share the hot topic areas for technology companies dealing with software, software as a service (SaaS)/cloud services, sales of digital goods and others.
We’ll also touch on the topics of the taxability of services related to these revenue streams, including installation and training, warranties, etc.
