In structuring Cannabis businesses, it is often important to have multiple entities, often with as little of the business activity as possible inside the cannabis "touching" business. This is due to liability issues and tax issues. When accountants are working with cannabis clients it is important that they understand what parts of the business activities their clients can put into separate business entities so as to minimize their liability and make their tax planning as effective as possible.
