As a Software Architect at SmartVault, Dr. John Marchesini's responsibilities include aiding in the design and implementation of the SmartVault platform. He has fifteen years of software development experience that span academic research labs, early stage start-ups, large commercial software vendors, and independent consulting. His experience has been with security and systems management software, as well as energy trading platforms. John has built several software products and platforms, and has managed technical teams from small to large. John holds a B.S. in computer science from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in computer science from Dartmouth College. He has published several conference and journal articles on the topics of application security and PKI. In 2007, he co-authored a textbook on the subject: The Craft of System Security.
