Course Description

IRS transcripts provide practitioners with records and insights into actions made by the IRS and a client. They offer information about past, present, and even future actions on a taxpayer’s account. Understanding how to read and review IRS transcripts is critical during the resolution process and can be utilized for return preparation as well.

During this webinar, attendees will receive general knowledge of IRS transcripts and how to obtain them. We’ll also review copies of actual transcripts to get a hands-on understanding and will share practical pointers on how to analyze transcripts.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the importance of transcripts

  • Recall how to get authority to obtain transcripts for your clients

  • Give examples of commonly used external transcripts

  • Determine what transcripts are needed for your client’s case

  • Recall how to analyze the information
