Jacob earned a B.S. in Psychology from Brigham Young University in 2000, and an M.S. & Ph.D. in Marriage & Family Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2008. From the beginning of his college education, Jacob wanted to work with families, and even more so with the teenagers in the families. He saw his first clients in 2001, and for the last 2 years has been in private practice, building the foundation of an organization that will serve families in his community for many years to come. Jacob worked with families in community clinics, residential treatment for teens, and now in his own private practice. He is formally trained in EMDR and IASIS Microcurrent neurofeedback, and practice from a trauma informed, empathetic, meet-the-clients-where-they-are, systemic, CBT based approach. All this education and training is so his clients feel confident in the professional skills that compliment the personal characteristics they’ll sense when working with him. Personal change is real, and is possible for anyone willing to put forth the work.
