Course Description

The Domestic Asset Protection Trust has become one of the most popular asset protection techniques used by estate planners. There are still some questions that remain. The presenter has answered these questions by using a so-called Hybrid Domestic Asset Protection Trust for residents of states that do not have asset protection trust statutes. This session will explore this concept and why every estate planner must understand it.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn about regular Domestic Asset Protection Trusts.

  • Discover the differences from state-to-state.

  • Find out why the Hybrid Domestic Asset Protection Trust is the most important tool in the asset protection industry.

  • Hear about how a future creditor might have to face a Clean Trust and a Dirty Trust after the trustee divides the Hybrid DAPT when in a defensive situation.
