Diane L. Yetter is a strategist, advisor, speaker, author and expert witness in the field of sales and use tax. She is founder of Sales Tax Institute and president of YETTER. Prior to founding the company in 1996, Diane was a tax professional for Arthur Andersen, Quaker Oats and the Kansas Department of Revenue. Diane is a member of many tax organizations and is frequently asked to present to industry groups concerning sales and use tax issues. As an author, Diane has published three books and numerous articles concerning sales and use tax issues. Diane was named one of Accounting Today’s 100 Most Influential People in Accounting for 2011 and 2012. Diane earned a BS in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas in 1985 and an MS in taxation from DePaul University in 1994.
Scott Peterson is Avalara’s Vice President of U.S. Tax Policy and Government Relations. Prior to Avalara, he was the first Executive Director of the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board - an organization devoted to making sales tax simpler and more uniform for the benefit of business. Scott also spent 10 years as the Director of the South Dakota Sales Tax Division and 12 years providing research and legal writing for the South Dakota legislature.
