Course Description

You’ve just gotten a new lead for a new client and now you must assess what they need from you effectively enough to give them a proposal but that’s only the beginning. After you land the client onboarding can be painful for both sides or it can reaffirm to your new client that you know exactly what you’re doing and they made the right decision.  How do you get the information you need, communicate key tasks to your team, make sure nothing falls through the cracks, and get off to a smooth start?  This class will cover some best practices for new client assessments and onboarding.

3 actionable take-aways:

  • Understand how important a deliberate process is for both assessing and on-boarding.

  • Have a format for gathering key information during both processes.

  • Recognize that assessments and on-boarding are where you set yourself up for success or failure.

Learning Objectives:

  • Have a structure for assessing clients during the initial discovery process.

  • Have a road-map for taking a client from the initial sales process, through on-boarding, and onto a successful long-term relationship.

  • Understand the key things you need to gather during initial on-boarding and the best way to gather this.

Why is this vital to the audience?
These two things, assessing new clients, and on-boarding them, are where accounting firms set themselves up for success or failure.

Why am I so passionate?
We have made a lot of mistakes learning best practices through trial and error and would like to help others avoid some of the same mistakes. We have been through a long and difficult journey with these two processes to get where we are today and I'd like to save other professionals some of the pitfalls along the way.
