Course Description

The Digital CPA Conference was launched as an event offered by the CPA.com and AICPA in December of 2012. The purpose of the conference was to help CPAs play a role in their firm's technology decisions, offer cloud-based strategies, solutions and adoption advice; as well as, helping firms use technology to move away from transactional to advisory services.

Today CPA.com is moving beyond a conference toward an ongoing Digital CPA offering and community. Our goal is to become the # 1 resource for the most relevant news, innovations, advice and content for today's Digital Firm.

THE KNOWLEDGE YOU'LL NEED TO SECURE YOUR DIGITAL FUTURE.

To be a Digital CPA requires competencies in 3 key areas:

  • Technical knowledge

  • Progressive business skills

  • Strong leadership

Though this can be said for running any accounting practice the approach and strategies are distinctly different. A Digital CPA is not just using technology, but employing it to transform their business environment to be relevant into the future for clients and staff. This is why CPA.com puts on the conference, webcasts, whitepapers and more to bring this community of progressive practitioners together to aid each other in propelling the profession into the future.

CPA.com was formed by the American Institute of CPAs. AICPA leadership knew the unprecedented pace of technological change required firms to adapt quickly and overcome the challenges of the partnership model to meet that goal. It charged CPA.com management with creating a business model, value proposition and infrastructure to help firms identify emerging trends and technologies and provide education, training and resources that would accelerate adoption.

CPA.com serves as a catalyst in the development of virtual CFO/controller services by firms and is now shifting its focus to similar innovations in tax and audit practices, with an emphasis on automation, artificial intelligence and the adoption of blockchain technology.
