Course Description

Tax preparers are facing more challenges than ever before in today’s market. Competition is increasing from all sides. Tax technology is both more complex and easier to use, meaning more and more taxpayers are opting for “DIY.” More specifically, during these current times of economic uncertainty, many traditional tax preparation customers have not only become more demanding, but they’ve also become more price-sensitive.

Yet regardless of these current challenges, our industry experts – backed by data – tell us that exciting market growth opportunities exist for tax preparers who are willing to think outside the box. During this webinar, you will hear from Shannon Bond, vice president of Wolters Kluwer’s Preparer Segment and 25+ year tax industry veteran, and Robert Kerr, tax policy expert and principal at Kerr Consulting LLC., as they discuss active industry trends, challenges, and opportunities within the tax preparation industry, as well offer their analysis of what recent industry report findings mean for the future.

Learning Objectives:

  • Summarize trends and the current state of the industry with an outlook for the next five years

  • Identify several key challenges in 2023 and beyond and how to combat them

  • List steps to think outside the box and find opportunities to grow

He also served in a professional staff position on the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, where he helped Senator Grassley provide IRS oversight on issues ranging from private debt collection to relocation expenses.

His experience with the National Association of Enrolled Agents and H&R Block provides him with a deep tax professional perspective.
