Course Description

Join Jina Etienne, CPA, for an enlightening webinar focused on reshaping the narrative of success and inclusivity within the accounting profession. In a traditionally male-dominated field where gender stereotypes and biases prevail, women often find themselves navigating intricate challenges and societal norms that impact their workplace confidence. From confronting the confidence gap to challenging ingrained perceptions of leadership and success, Jina Etienne explores the intersectionality of gender, ageism, and socio-economic factors that influence professional trajectories.

Through thought-provoking discussions and practical insights, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how biases manifest and affect professional dynamics. Jina encourages attendees to reflect on their own biases, acknowledge hierarchical structures, and embrace inclusive practices that foster a welcoming environment for all professionals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Summarize strategies to develop a “sense of agency” and build confidence, overcoming barriers imposed by traditional gender roles and expectations

  • Identify how to recognize and address biases, both personal and systemic, that hinder inclusivity and professional growth

  • Outline insights into fostering inclusive environments within the accounting industry — improving retention, recruiting, and leadership pipeline development
