Mr. Filer is a manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Global FCPA practice based in Washington, D.C. Metro office. He routinely works on matters involving the SEC and the US DOJ. Mr. Filer has worked on FCPA projects in China, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Russia, South Africa, India, Mexico, Brazil, and the Czech Republic. Select FCPA Experience - Worked on a FCPA investigation of a non-US SEC registrant in India. This matter was voluntarily disclosed to the regulators in the US as well as the Serious Fraud Office in the UK. - Performed various acquisition-related anti-corruption/ FCPA due diligence projects for Fortune 100 companies located in the Midwest and East Coast. - Performed an anti-corruption/ FCPA compliance assessment and gap analysis for a Midwest manufacturing company. This included a phased approach involving interviews, a review of anti-corruption policies and procedures, site visits, survey questionnaires, providing recommendations on enhancing the anti-corruption/ FCPA controls, and working with the company's compliance team to implement these recommendations. - Assisted an audit client on implementing an anti-corruption/ FCPA compliance program. - Performed complex "Benefits Analysis" to calculate potential disgorgement of profits in FCPA matters. - Managed anti-corruption compliance assessment site visits ranging from one week to three weeks in various countries. In addition to his FCPA experience, Mr. Filer has experience in several large investigations involving financial statement frauds, revenue recognition issues and asset misappropriation. Mr. Filer also has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, cost reductions projects, intellectual property disputes, arbitration work, and contract compliance reviews.
