The course will cover the basic cross border tax and financial planning issues, primarily through a series of questions that should be asked of cross border clients. Through the use of questions, the course will cover the issues surrounding citizenship, residency, tax compliance, and learning the client’s story. From there, the course will explore some of the more technical areas and will end with conclusions.

Dale has over thirty-five years of experience and is a frequent speaker on US-Canada financial planning and tax related issues, and is the author of Buying Real Estate in the US – The Concise Guide for Canadians and is the co-author of Taxation of Canadians in America: Are YOU at risk? and Taxation of Americans in Canada: Are YOU at risk?
Having owned and run many businesses over many years, Dale understands the needs, frustrations and challenges of business owners. Dale has experienced the decisions to be made with regards to structure, compensation and benefits, pricing, marketing, hiring, culture, mergers and ultimately the successful transition of a business to the next generation of leadership.
Dale is a former collegiate wrestler, four-time World Heavyweight Karate Champion and fourth degree black belt in Judo. He is currently working towards a black belt in the Israeli self-defense system of Krav Maga.
